Our involvement in this Leehom Wang music video centred on two areas of post-production work.
The first was the balloon sequences throughout the film. Balloons are notoriously difficult to shoot practically — they respond unpredictably to air movement, and directing their motion on set is effectively impossible. For this reason, the majority of the balloons visible in the video were created in 3D, giving the production full control over where they move and how they behave within each shot.
The second was extensive scene cleanup. The shoot took place against a backdrop that included several modern high-rise buildings — structures that were inconsistent with the visual world the MV was trying to establish. A significant portion of the post work involved removing these buildings frame by frame, restoring the integrity of the scene’s setting.
